From the President’s Desk

We are happy to welcome to our beautiful campus Zaytuna College.  Zaytuna College was founded in 1996 by Shaykh Hamza Yusef whose vision was to create a lasting institution of higher learning.  They are moving towards the establishment of the first Islamic College in the United States.  Zaytuna is recognized as premier Islamic institution in the United States.

The college is within the educational vision of the American Baptist Seminary of the West and we are proud to welcome them to our campus. They will occupy the basement of Academic and Karpe buildings on our campus.

This summer has been extremely busy for the family of ABSW.

We are excited about the reception of our Doctor’s of Ministry Degree program. We had a cohort of 25 D. Min students on campus this summer, some of whom came from Seoul Korea to participate as students in the project.  We are looking to establish several more cohorts in the D. Min program and invite you to inquire about this marvelous opportunity.

As we look to the fall semester 2010-2011 we are excited about the quality of students who plan to matriculate on the hallowed grounds of ABSW.

We were able to finish the fiscal year 2009-2010 in the black and we thank our many supporters  and donors who believe that theological education is needed more today than in the past.

We encourage all of you to remember that “the effective prayers of the righteous availeth much in the sight of God!”  PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARY, FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS.

We encourage all of you to remember that God will take care of His own and this means financially. Please PRAY WITH ME FOR A SPIRIT OF GENEROSITY among the many friends, alumni and churches that we have shared with in the past.

We encourage all of you to remember that the completion of seminary education is still the pre-requisite to a life dedicated to servant leadership in the Christian community.

In Jesus Joy!

I remain,

Dr. Paul M. Martin

President
